The Orchestra Joueurs de Flûte has is seat in Fossano. It was founded in 1997 by Mariangela Biscia with a group of her young students coming from the local musical school and from other cities near Cuneo.

Nowadays these students are successful flutists, they won many first prizes at International and National Competitions and now they are teaching and playing in many schools and orchestras. The Orchestra won the National Competition for Young Flutists "E.KRAKAMP" of Naples, the International Competition of Flute Interpretation of the "City of Ovada" and earlier the Competitions of S.Bartolomeo al Mare, Casarza Ligure, Biella, Stresa, Vercelli, Castiglione delle Stiviere, Bergamo and Milan.

The instruments of the orchestra are divided in C flutes, Alto flutes, Bass Flutes, Piccolos and a Contrabass Flute. Sometimes, for particular sheets the help of other instruments is necessary in order to have a big repertory made of classical music, sacred music, Occitan music, contemporary music and jazz. The aims of the group are both the concert activities and to meet the requests of particular repertories that schools, and associations often ask them to play; in order to share their artistic knowledge. (as for instance Internships on the construction and the maintenance of the instruments, instrumental and orchestral classes, class-concerts etc..).

Recently it was invited as the only Italian Orchestra of flute at the International Show "Flautissimo" that took place in Rome at the Parco della Musica and at the "National Flute Festival" of Milan. The Orchestra has also cooperated with the Cultural Association "Musica in Corso" of Rome and with other associations in Foggia, Napoli, Nice.

Since the end of 2006 the Joueurs de Flûte welcomed the Contrabass Flute which helps to enrich and complete the timbre of the Orchestra.

Last year they have participated as the only Italian group at the International Convention BFS of Manchester. They recorded 3 cds so far: the first one featuring R. Guiot, and it has been published as an attachment of the flute magazine "FALAUT", the second one featuring R. Guiot and A. Persichilli and in recent times the third one together with R.Guiot M.Marasco, C.Lefebvre and A.Adorjàn.
